The Amanh\u00e3 Group and PwC Brazil unveiled the ranking of the 500 LARGEST COMPANIES IN THE SOUTH at an award event held this Tuesday (29) at the Porto Alegre Innovation Center, in the capital of RS, in a hybrid ceremony with broadcasting to the press and company representatives on the group’s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, in addition to the 500 largest companies, the 500 emerging companies were also revealed, totaling a thousand companies on the list, composing a complete scenario in which many names have been in the ranking for over thirty years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this edition, Tuper S\/A ranks 119th among companies in southern Brazil, with a growth of 74 positions compared to the previous edition and, among the top one hundred in the state of Santa Catarina, it is in 24th place, rising 21 positions in the category. In the net revenue segment, the company ranks fifth considering only the metallurgy sector and 14th place overall in Santa Catarina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Importance of the Ranking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The 500 Largest Companies in the South project has been carried out for 32 years by Grupo AMANH\u00c3 with technical support from PwC, the world’s largest auditing firm. It is considered the most important regional ranking of companies in Brazil and uses various indicators to list the largest and most competitive companies in the Southern Region, the leaders in Paran\u00e1, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the highlights in 28 sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The list is prepared based on the Weighted Value of Greatness (VPG). This index, which defines the overall classification of companies in the ranking of the 500 largest in the south, reflects, in a balanced way, the size and performance of companies, based on a calculation that considers the three major figures in the balance sheet: net worth (which has a weight of 50% in the VPG calculation), net revenue (40%), and net profit or loss (10%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
