Intersolar South America brings together the best of photovoltaic energy

Tuper showcases products related to sustainable energy production

Por Tuper S/A  |  23 de August de 2022 às 13:54

Tuper is present at the 2022 edition of Intersolar South America as a guest of ArcelorMittal, exhibiting products at the company’s booth. The event is the largest solar fair in South America, focusing on photovoltaic, PV production, and thermosolar technologies. Simultaneously, at the Intersolar South America Congress, renowned experts discuss current topics related to the industry.

Tuper has been supplying solutions to the photovoltaic sector for several years, primarily serving large centralized energy generation projects. Among the projects delivered are those for the Spanish company STI Norland, which manufactures photovoltaic trackers and is among the world’s largest in this segment, with branches in ten countries. The company established a unit in Brazil in 2015, in the city of Palmas (TO), and is currently headquartered in São Paulo (SP).

Photovoltaic energy data in Brazil

According to data from the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), Brazil has already surpassed 18 GW of installed capacity in photovoltaic solar power. This number takes into account 5.6 GW in large-scale plants (centralized generation) and 12.4 GW in self-generation systems (distributed generation). The milestone was reached less than a month after the country reached 17 GW of photovoltaic capacity. Between January and August of this year, solar energy grew by 38.4%, jumping from 13 GW to 18 GW, making it the third-largest source in the Brazilian electric matrix, behind only hydropower and wind power.

According to the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association (Absolar), the technology has already brought over R$ 93.7 billion in investments to Brazil, R$ 25.4 billion in public revenue, and generated over 540,500 jobs since 2012. The energy source has also prevented the emission of 26.5 million tons of CO². These numbers demonstrate the growth potential of this modality as a way to diversify the country’s energy matrix.

Tuper at the fair

Tuper has brought tubes and carbon steel profiles that cater to the photovoltaic solar energy sector to this exhibition, such as structural tubes manufactured in accordance with NBR 6591 and NBR 8261 standards and U-shaped, stiffened, and hat-section metal profiles. At the event, visitors can get a close look at the complete production chain of the photovoltaic and thermosolar sectors and global and local brands presenting technological innovations in the industry.
