A new Tuper Warehousing Center, located next to the manufacturing plant in São Bento do Sul (SC – Brazil), began operations on March 2, 2023. The 5,000 m² built area aims to expand the support structure for stock operations and improve the storage and logistics processes for finished products.
In the project, steel solutions from Tuper’s product portfolio were applied, including foundation piles, pipes and structural profiles, metal roofing sheets, conduits, and piping. Technical teams from Tuper and partner companies SteelMast and Construtora Implantec were involved in the civil project’s development, with the latter responsible for assembling the pavilion. Fabio Weihermann, Corporate Engineering Manager, commented, “Designing and executing a project of this size with our own products, from the foundation with quick connection piles to the roofing system, not only gives us great confidence but is also a privilege that fills us with pride!”
With a total investment of R$ 9.7 million, the project has a storage capacity of 7,600 tons for products from the Tubos and Galvanização units. The new warehousing center is expected to facilitate dry storage operations for pipes, allowing for quicker customer order fulfillment, product integrity and quality assurance, and safety. In fact, safety was a significant focus from conception to completion of the project. “Best safety practices guided the project from start to finish, with storage and handling care solutions incorporated into the physical layout. Robust planning and intense monitoring were applied at every stage of construction, resulting in a fully secure operation,” emphasizes Fernando Nass, Corporate Quality and HSSE Manager.
The plant’s design paid special attention to the cargo preparation area (or picking), and the construction features docks equipped for pipe loading and unloading, as well as a barrier system to prevent incidents and accidents in the corridors, following the best techniques and applicable standards.
